Fiscal Year in Review

Like sequels of a movie, we go by the same principle of offering more every time. That said, we always strive hard to find more ways of helping you every new fiscal year (FY), be it through adding new donors, new offers and hey, may even be in reaching new countries.

Have you heard? Microsoft will be making significant changes to all free personal OneDrive accounts by 13 July 2016 – just a few weeks away from today. By then all new free accounts will strictly be limited to a maximum of 5 GB storage, and the previous perks of additional storage (e.g. free 15 GB for camera roll) will be discontinued.

Conflict between armed groups and local military troops has continued to plague communities in Mindanao, Philippines. Behind the smoke and crossfire, tens of thousands of Filipinos have perished while hundreds of thousands worth of infrastructure has also been destroyed.  However, what’s worse is that an invaluable amount of opportunities are forever lost in lives of innocent children, as more and more of Mindanao’s youth continue to drop out of school due to fear, to join their kin and raise arms, or worse, as they have already succumbed to the conflict.

At the end of every presentation that we hold in events, it is common practice for us to highlight a list of new and exciting things NGOs can expect from TechSoup in the days to come. Looking back at the fiscal year that was, I’m happy to tell you that you won’t be seeing some of the items in the list anymore – mainly because they’re now a reality!
